The Farmhouse Reopens After Kitchen Fire
DELAVAN — The Farmhouse Bar & Grill has reopened following a temporary closure caused by a kitchen fire earlier this week.
The popular Delavan restaurant announced Monday, Oct. 26, that it had experienced what owners described as a “small fire” involving the grill area of the kitchen. In a social media post, management informed customers that the business would close temporarily while repairs and cleanup were completed.
“We’re working to get things back up and running and hope to reopen as soon as possible,” the post stated. At the time, owners anticipated reopening the following day, while promising to keep customers updated.
The restaurant also thanked the community for its patience and support during the unexpected interruption.
However, by Thursday, Oct. 29, management revealed that the situation had become more serious than initially believed.
“Well… that little fire turned into a much bigger setback than we ever expected,” the restaurant wrote in a follow-up social media post. “What we thought would be a short closure has turned into more time with our doors shut than we ever planned for.”
Despite the challenges, The Farmhouse announced a soft reopening beginning Thursday evening. The business reopened with a limited food menu while continuing recovery efforts, though management said beverage service was fully available.
Restaurant owners acknowledged the financial impact the closure had on both the business and its employees.
“Being closed has been tough on our staff and our little business,” the post read. “Like so many small-town establishments, we depend on our community to keep our doors open, and an unexpected setback like this one really hurts.”
The Farmhouse encouraged residents to support the restaurant as operations return to normal. Limited reopening hours were set for Thursday through Saturday, with the establishment remaining closed Sunday. Management said regular business hours are expected to resume Monday, Nov. 2, pending final inspections.
Owners expressed appreciation for the community’s support and said they look forward to welcoming customers back as recovery efforts continue.
