Delavan Ambulance Service Upgrades Garage Doors for Modern Equipment

DELAVAN — The Delavan Ambulance Service recently completed important upgrades to its station garage doors to accommodate newer emergency vehicles and ensure continued readiness for serving the community.

The project was prompted by the purchase of an additional ambulance that features a higher profile than some of the department’s older vehicles. While the new ambulance provides enhanced capabilities for emergency response, its increased height created a challenge when entering the existing garage bays.

To address the issue, contractors raised the garage door headers and are installing new overhead doors, providing the necessary clearance for the larger vehicle. The change will allow ambulances to move in and out of the station safely and efficiently while protecting both the vehicles and the building from potential damage.

The completed project will ensure the Ambulance Service can house its growing fleet and remain prepared to respond quickly when residents need emergency medical assistance.
