Panthers Snap Five‑Game Skid

The Delavan Varsity Panthers finally put an end to their five‑game losing streak Wednesday evening, delivering a determined 9–6 victory over the Blue Ridge Knights. The win also continued Delavan’s recent success in the matchup, as the Panthers topped Blue Ridge the last time the teams met back in April 2025.

Senior pitcher Maddie Lowers was the anchor from start to finish, throwing all seven innings and showing the kind of command the Panthers have relied on all season. Lowers allowed six runs—three earned—on six hits and struck out ten, keeping Delavan in control even as Blue Ridge tried to rally late.

At the plate, Delavan found its spark in Kara Lowry, who turned in one of the best offensive performances of her career. Lowry went 1‑for‑3, but that one hit was a no‑doubt home run that powered in three runs, marking a new personal best. She crossed the plate twice herself, setting the tone for a lineup that refused to back down.

Nola Houston added another highlight, ripping her first double of the season to help fuel Delavan’s middle‑inning surge.
The victory also marked Delavan’s first road win of the year, improving the Panthers to 3–16.
