Delavan Duo Sweeps Canute to Claim Championship
The Delavan Panthers’ Rocket League team delivered a statement victory Thursday night, completing a long-awaited redemption run with a dominant sweep over Canute High School to capture the Rocket League Championship. The duo of David LiCalzi (DiCalzi) and Bennett Bramham (Savvi) controlled the match from start to finish, winning 4–0 in a best‑of‑seven series.
The championship showdown carried extra weight for Delavan. Back in December 2025, the Panthers fell to Canute in the title match, a loss that fueled months of preparation and determination. When the rematch finally arrived on April 23, Delavan wasted no time proving how far they had come.
The Panthers opened the night with an explosive 8–2 win in Game 1, setting the tone with aggressive offensive pressure and seamless rotations. Game 2 tightened, but Delavan held firm for a 3–2 victory, showcasing their ability to stay composed in high‑pressure moments. They followed with a 3–1 win in Game 3 before closing out the sweep with a confident 5–3 finish in Game 4.
Match commentators repeatedly highlighted the duo’s chemistry, noting their “near telepathic communication” and “great teamwork” throughout the series. Their coordination—whether in aerial challenges, defensive clears or perfectly timed passes—kept Canute on its heels all night.
LiCalzi and Bramham’s performance marks one of the strongest postseason showings in the program’s history, turning last year’s disappointment into a championship moment.
