Volunteers Needed to Support Weekly Legion Breakfast

For generations, the American Legion Post 382 has welcomed the community to its weekly Sunday Morning Breakfast, serving hearty, hometown favorites from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The menu—French toast, pancakes, eggs, bacon, and the ever-popular biscuits and gravy—draws more than 100 patrons each week. That steady turnout is made possible by a dedicated team of volunteers who keep the kitchen running smoothly and the dining room warm and welcoming.

The breakfast is more than a meal; it’s one of the Post’s primary sources of income. Funds raised each Sunday help support a wide range of community programs, including local scholarships, the annual Halloween Parade, Breakfast with Santa, and numerous donations to organizations throughout the Delavan area. The success of these efforts depends on the continued support of volunteers who give their time to serve others.

The Breakfast Committee now has several openings for both kitchen and serving positions. Volunteers receive a complimentary breakfast on the morning they help, and the opportunity is especially valuable for high school students seeking to fulfill required service hours for graduation.

Community members interested in lending a hand are encouraged to speak with any Legion member or simply stop by during Sunday breakfast to learn more. With continued volunteer support, Post 382 can keep this long-standing Delavan tradition thriving for years to come.
