Girls Seize Regional Title, Boys and Girls Blaze to Sectionals
The Delavan High School Cross Country teams delivered a thrilling performance at the 2025 IHSA Regional Championship, with the Girls team capturing the regional title and the Boys team securing a strong fourth-place finish—earning both squads a coveted spot at next weekend’s Sectional Meet in Elmwood.
Girls Claim Regional Crown with Record-Breaking Run
Led by senior Annabelle LaFary’s electrifying fifth-place finish, the Lady Panthers surged to the top of the leaderboard, clinching the program’s first regional championship in recent memory. LaFary shattered the school record with a personal-best time of 17:55.11, rewriting the history books and setting the tone for a dominant team effort.
Elyse Brinkmeyer followed close behind in 9th (18:57), while Khloe Stockham (13th, PR 19:19) and Drew Robison (16th, PR 19:25) both broke into Delavan’s all-time top 10. Alaina Karker (26th, SB 20:18), Isabella Houston (33rd, PR 21:48), and Olivia Nehmelman (35th, SB 21:50) rounded out the scoring with grit and consistency.
Green Repeats as Regional Champ, Boys Punch Ticket to Sectionals
On the boys’ side, junior standout Coriell Green defended his regional title in spectacular fashion, blazing through the course in 14:50.57—a new personal best, school record, and course record. His commanding win anchored a team effort that earned the Panthers fourth place overall and a berth at Sectionals.
Evan Lemme (15th, PR 16:00) joined Green in the top 15, with Drew Toland (23rd, PR 16:28), Nick Glisson (40th, PR 17:16), Jace Toland (41st, PR 17:16), and Soyier Balsimo (42nd, PR 17:17) all setting personal records and climbing Delavan’s all-time rankings.
Next Stop: Elmwood Sectional
