FFA Kicks Off Year at Fair Oaks Farm

Delavan’s FFA kicked off their year with their annual trip to Fair Oaks Farm, right outside of Fair Oaks, Indiana. During their time there, members learned about different agricultural topics. From learning how to milk a cow to getting to see baby pigs, FFA members were given the opportunity to enrich their minds with hands-on experience.

To jumpstart the year, members participated in an annual educational trip to Fair Oaks Farm in Fair Oaks, Indiana. Students were offered the unique opportunity to learn more about agriculture in action. This hands-on experience taught students about modern agriculture through various activities, including learning how cows are milked and observing how robotics is used in agriculture.

Now, the Delavan FFA is gearing up for its next year of officer elections! Set in December, students will begin their election process. Members who run will be required to arrive in official attire, ready to answer questions and showcase their commitment to FFA and the chapter. This year’s officers are: Annabelle LaFary as president, Kaelenn Morris as vice president, Jaxton Westbrook as reporter, Coriell Green as secretary, and McKinleigh Sipka as sentinel.

The officers have already made a strong impact through their traditions, like the Kiddie Tractor Pull and Feed the Farmer event. Their dedication, along with their members’ commitment, has set a tone for a successful year, and we’re excited to see what comes next! As the year continues, the FFA chapter looks forward to its many opportunities, and they hope to see the community’s support for their hard work and efforts.

With a year already full of work and growth, the Delavan FFA is eager to continue with its successes. As learning opportunities arise, competitive events approach, and with officer elections just around the corner, one thing is certain—the chapter will continue striving to make a difference in their community and FFA!
