Panthers Make Their Mark at Detweiller Park
The Delavan High School Panthers delivered a commanding performance at the First to the Finish Invitational held at Detweiller Park, turning heads with personal bests and record-breaking runs across both the boys’ and girls’ divisions.
Boys’ Varsity Race
Competing as a full squad for the first time this season, the Panther boys rose to the occasion—each runner notching a personal best in a field of 689 athletes. Leading the charge was senior standout Corie Green, who once again etched his name into the Delavan record books. Green crossed the finish line in a blazing 15:08, shattering his previous school record and earning a third-place medal. His time marks a dramatic improvement from last year’s 16:33 on the same course.
Supporting Green’s historic run were:
- Evan Lemme – 17:08 (124th)
- Drew Toland – 17:39 (173rd)
- Jace Toland – 18:05 (227th)
- Nick Glisson – 18:17 (246th)
- Soyier Balsimo – 19:07 (331st)
The boys’ team placed 21st out of 62 full squads, a strong showing in a highly competitive field.
Girls’ Varsity Race
The Lady Panthers also impressed, securing 8th place among 42 teams and 421 runners. Junior Annabelle LaFary led the way with a medal-winning 18:31, finishing 20th overall. Close behind was Elyse Brinkmeyer, who clocked in at 19:13 to claim 29th.
Additional top performances included:
