Fall Fest 3-on-3 Tournament Is Back

The sound of sneakers squeaking and nets snapping will echo through Delavan Gymnasiums on Sunday, August 31, as 33 teams descend on Delavan High School for the 2nd Annual Fall Festival 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament. From noon to 8:00 p.m., the gym will transform into a showcase of fast breaks, buzzer beaters, and hometown pride—all under the watchful eye of tournament organizer and Delavan basketball royalty, Jason Fisher.

Fisher, a 2002 Delavan High School graduate, made statewide headlines when he was crowned the Class A IHSA Slam Dunk “King of the Hill”. His high school success earned him a spot on the Illinois Wesleyan University Titans roster, where he played four seasons as a guard from 2002 to 2006.

Held inside the Poppenga and High School Gymnasiums, the event promises high-energy matchups across multiple age brackets. Spectators can expect concessions available for purchase, and a courtside atmosphere that blends competition with community.

This year’s tournament features a three-game guarantee format, combining pool play and bracket play to ensure every team gets multiple chances to compete. After initial pool matchups, teams will advance into bracket play based on performance, culminating in championship rounds that showcase the best of local talent.

Last year’s inaugural tournament drew 23 teams. This year, the field has grown significantly, with 33 squads registered and ready to compete.

Whether you’re lacing up to play or cheering from the bleachers, Sunday’s tournament promises to be a slam dunk for Delavan. And with Jason Fisher at the helm, the event is more than a game—it’s legendary.
