Crew members from G.A. Rich & Sons Plumbing work to repair a leaking water main near the intersection of 8th and Cedar Streets in Delavan on Tuesday afternoon. The joint effort with city crews restored service and limited disruption to nearby residents.

Water Main Leak Resolved

A water main leak near the intersection of 8th and Cedar Streets was swiftly addressed on Tuesday, August 5, thanks to coordinated efforts between Delavan city crews and G.A. Rich & Sons Plumbing of Deer Creek.

The leak, which was traced to normal wear and tear exacerbated by recent temperature fluctuations, prompted a temporary lane reduction on 8th Street to allow workers safe access to the site. Crews located the source of the issue and began repairs shortly thereafter.

One residence—602 E 8th Street—was affected by the disruption and was placed under a precautionary boil order, which has since been lifted.

Delavan Mayor Adam White praised the quick response, noting that collaboration with G.A. Rich & Sons helped expedite the repair and minimize disruption to traffic and water service.
