Art Tells a Story
Ayer Public Library’s 2025 Summer Reading Program Inspires Creativity
This summer, the Ayer Public Library District invites readers of all ages to embark on a literary and artistic adventure with its 2025 Summer Reading Program, "Art Tells a Story." Designed to celebrate the intersection of storytelling and visual art, the program encourages participants to explore how illustrations, paintings, and other creative expressions bring narratives to life.
From June through August, the library will host a variety of engaging activities, including interactive storytimes, art workshops, and book discussions that highlight the power of visual storytelling. Whether through picture books, graphic novels, or illustrated classics, readers will discover how art enhances the written word.
In addition to reading challenges and prizes, Art Tells a Story will feature guest speakers, including the Lego Lady and Sarah from Farm on Third, who will share their creative ideas. Families can also look forward to the Tiny Art Show and Contest, where participants contribute a painting on a tiny canvas to be voted on by the community..
Registration for the program will take place on the back lawn of the library on June 6, between 11:00 a.m. and noon, and on June 9, between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The program is open to children, teens, and adults, ensuring that everyone can take part in the summer-long celebration of creativity.
