Panthers Claim 7th Place Medal at State

The Delavan Panthers Girls' Track team delivered a standout performance at the state tournament this Saturday, earning a medal with a 7th-place finish in the 4x800 relay at O’Brien Field.

The team—comprising Elyse Brinkmeir, Khloe Stockham, Annabelle LaFary, Drew Robison, and alternate Olivia Nehmelman—set a personal record of 9:54.44, finishing just one second shy of the school record. Their outstanding effort in a fiercely competitive field showcased their determination, stamina, and teamwork, as each runner executed a strong leg of the race with precision.

From the opening exchange to the final lap, the Panthers pushed their limits, maintaining a steady pace and refusing to back down against elite opponents. Their drive paid off as they secured a hard-earned spot on the podium, marking a historic moment for their program.

As the track season wraps up, the Panthers proudly take home their state medals, along with the satisfaction of knowing they left it all on the track. Though they fell just short of the school record, their achievement stands as a milestone—one that fuels their aspirations for the future.

In Bloomington on Saturday, the Delavan Panthers didn’t just compete—they made history.
