Panthers Dominate Tomahawk Conference

The Delavan High School Track team delivered a stellar performance at the Tomahawk Conference meet, earning an impressive 12 conference champion titles while securing second place overall for the girls' team and third place for the boys' team.

Leading the charge for the girls, the 4x800 relay team of Khloe Stockham, Drew Robison, Annabelle LaFary, and Elyse Brinkmeyer took first place with a personal record (PR) time of 10:02.95. They continued their strong showing with a second-place finish in the 4x400 relay. Individually, Stockham claimed victory in the 100-meter dash and finished second in the 400-meter dash with a PR of 1:00.67.

Distance runners excelled as LaFary dominated with first-place finishes in both the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs, while Robison secured second in the 1600-meter and third in the 800-meter. Brinkmeyer also impressed, winning the 3200-meter run and placing fifth in the 400-meter with a PR. Olivia Nehmelman took third in the 3200-meter and fifth in the 300-meter hurdles, while Gwen Tierney finished third in discus.

On the boys’ side, the 4x400 relay team of Nick Glisson, Corie Green, Ryan Schmidgall, and Caden Rassi raced to second place. Glisson soared to victory in the high jump while also placing sixth in the 400-meter dash.

The distance events were dominated by Green, who secured wins in the 800-meter, 1600-meter, and 3200-meter runs, setting a PR in the 3200. Schmidgall continued his outstanding season, winning the 100-meter, 200-meter, and 400-meter races.

Other notable performances included Rassi’s fifth-place finish in the 800-meter run with a PR, and Lyndon Miller, who placed sixth in discus, ninth in shot put, and 10th in the 200-meter dash with a PR.

With multiple personal bests and championship wins, the Panthers showcased their strength and determination, solidifying their status as one of the top competitors in the conference. They now set their sights on their upcoming meet, eager to continue their winning streak.
