Panthers Triumph Over Titans

The Delavan Panthers secured a thrilling victory against the El Paso-Gridley Titans, clinching a 4-3 win on Saturday. With a strong start, the Panthers grabbed a 4-run lead in the fourth inning and managed to hold off the Titans' late surge.

Braden Arrenholz, number 14, ignited the scoring for the Panthers with a double in the bottom of the second inning. Trace Kight-Garlisch, number 9, extended the lead with a single down the left field line on a 0-2 count in the third inning.

Arrenholz was stellar on the mound, earning the win by allowing just two hits and no runs over four innings, striking out seven and walking three. The Titans' pitcher, number 21, endured a tough loss, giving up four runs (three earned) on five hits, striking out five, and walking six through three and one-third innings. Wyatt Pierson, number 28, closed out the game with a save for Delavan, facing 14 batters, striking out four, and allowing 5 hits and 3 runs.

Bryson Horning led the offensive charge with two hits in three at-bats. The Panthers showcased their discipline at the plate, drawing nine walks in the game. Corie Green and Corbin Soldal each contributed two free passes. Horning was a menace on the bases, stealing three and leading the team's five stolen bases. The Panthers maintained a strong defense, with catcher Kelton Nafziger handling thirteen chances in the field.

The Panthers will look to continue their winning streak as they travel to face the Altamont Varsity Indians in their upcoming game on Thursday.
