Voters Choose Direction for Delavan
On Tuesday, April 1st, Delavan witnessed a spirited municipal election, with residents turning out to cast their votes for mayor and city council members. Adam White emerged victorious in the mayoral race, defeating Nicholas Georgi and Ben Ross in a closely contested battle. White's campaign focused on building on the progress made in revitalizing local businesses and creating growth in opportunities for residents, resonating with voters.
Also selected, in an uncontested race, was Tia Galloway as the elected City Clerk.
The city council elections also brought fresh faces to the council chamber, with several newcomers pledging to prioritize transparency and economic growth. In Ward 1, Levi Birkey was chosen as alderman. In Ward 2, Joe Watts was elected. In Ward 3, Linda Slabaugh was voted in.
Voter turnout was notably high, reflecting the community's commitment to shaping Delavan's future.
Delavan Township
In the township elections, Richard Bottenberg was elected Supervisor, Brad Donley was elected Clerk, and Eric Diekhoff was elected Highway Commissioner; all ran unopposed. The Township Trustees elected were Richard Hartzler, James Kendregan, Aaron Sundell, and JoAnn Beymer.
Ayer Library District
Stephen Dare, Whitney Borton, and Leann Ryan were elected as Trustees of the Ayer Library District.
Delavan CUSD 703 Board of Education
Brady Wildenradt, Douglas Lowry, Angela Kemper, and Mark Gasper were elected as Board Members.
Delavan Fire Protection District
Scott Jeckel was elected to a 6-year term, and Scott Mutchler was elected to a 2-year term.
